Wisconsin artist's works on the Web
Mary Theisen-Helm, (1923-2003), a noted Milwaukee-based artist and former Loyal resident, who painted and drew in Wisconsin for more than 50 years, now has a virtual gallery dedicated to her art.
MTH-ART.com compiles more than 1,400 of her existing works and plays tribute to her diverse exploration of stylistic composition and expression. Selected works and self portraits are profiled as well as a biography of the artist.
Theisen-Helm was the founding director for the University Wisconsin Milwaukee Union Art Gallery, a charter member of Milwaukee Women in the Arts, and exhibited her works locally and regionally. She was a contemporary of other Milwaukee artists such as Joseph Friebert, Shomer Lichtner, John Colt and Forrest Flower.
The works are available for viewing and purchase.
